Goodnight, Lamby

When her beloved stuffed lamb goes missing, three-year-old Zia ventures into her father’s vast sculpture, embarking on a perilous journey through shifting dreamscapes to bring Lamby home.

Drawing from the world of visual artist Dustin Yellin, GOODNIGHT, LAMBY unfolds within a richly layered dreamscape where imagination and lived experience intertwine. Anchored by tactile artistry and emotional immediacy, GOODNIGHT, LAMBY explores the intensity of a child’s devotion and the transformative power of imagination, rendering a journey that is at once intimate and expansive.

To make the film, the Primordial Soup team used new digital tools alongside practical collage, photography, and handmade materials already central to Yellin’s practice. The technology became a way to extend the physical work rather than replace it — helping us imagine what might exist between the layers of glass and inside these frozen moments. The goal was never to create synthetic worlds disconnected from the human hand, but to preserve the texture, imperfections, and density of the original artwork while allowing it to evolve into something cinematic and alive.
