SERIES | 30+ EPISODES | EXPERIMENTAL | 2026
“1776” is an ongoing cinematic experiment exploring how generative tools can reshape filmmaking. Produced by Primordial Soup in collaboration with TIME, the series reimagines the American Revolution through short films released 250 years after the events themselves.
The project combines historians, filmmakers, technologists, researchers, and SAG actors to test new storytelling workflows grounded in real performances and cinematic craft. The team is increasingly exploring hybrid production: performance capture alongside generative imagery to create new approaches to character, staging, and visual storytelling.
As the project evolves, “1776” continues pushing into new genres, formats, and visual languages as part of a larger exploration into the future of cinema.
